React Hooks are functions that enable functional components to have state and lifecycle features. They were introduced in React 16.8 to allow developers to use state and other React features without writing a class. Some of the commonly used React Hooks include useState, useEffect, useContext, and more. Here’s a brief overview of each:

  1. useState:

    • useState is used to add state to functional components.
    • It returns an array with two elements: the current state value and a function that lets you update it.

2. useEffect:

  • useEffect is used for side effects in functional components, such as data fetching, subscriptions, or manually changing the DOM.
  • It takes a function that contains the code to run and an optional array of dependencies.

3. useContext:

  • useContext is used to subscribe to React context without introducing nesting.
  • It takes a context object (the value returned from React.createContext) and returns the current context value for that context.

These are just a few examples of the many hooks provided by React. Others include useReducer, useCallback, useMemo, useRef, and more. Hooks provide a more straightforward and functional approach to managing state and side effects in React components.
